Kline Announces Web Guide to Discount Drug
Card Information
WWW.MEDICARE.GOV Offers
New Information for Seniors
WASHINGTON – April 2nd, 2004 - Congressman John Kline (R-MN) announced the
Department of Health and Human Services has launched new
information on their website,
www.medicare.gov,
which will help Medicare beneficiaries choose the Medicare
drug discount that is best for them.
Effective immediately, the website provides seniors with a
list of the “approved” cards that will be available to them,
along with contact information. Beginning at the end of April,
the site will also feature actual prices at specific
pharmacies, so seniors can compare the nearly 30 cards that
will be available nationwide, as well as nearly 20 more that
will be available regionally.
“This is a fundamental change in the way seniors will buy
drugs, said Kline. “By making this information
transparent and more accessible, we are enabling seniors to
make the decisions about health care that will serve them
best.” | |
