WASHINGTON – May 17th, 2004 - Congressman John Kline (R-MN) today announced the winners of the 2nd District Congressional Art Competition.

The winners were selected by a panel of artists, art educators, and aficionados from Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District.  Top awards were presented to:

I) Brad Renn, a senior at Rosemount High School, for his pastel, “See My Figure.”

II) Meghan Dussel, a senior at Apple Valley High School, for her photo, “Shadows.”

III) Drew Martinek, a senior at Apple Valley, for his pastel, “Nikki.”

Congressman Kline called each of the winners to congratulate them personally.  “I am impressed by the level of talent demonstrated by these young artists,” Kline observed, “I look forward to displaying their work in my Washington and Minnesota offices and in the United States Capitol.”

For receiving the first place award, Mr. Renn's artwork will be on display in the United States Capitol for one year.  The works by Dussel and Martinek will be displayed in Congressman Kline’s Washington and Minnesota offices, respectively.
