Resources”
WASHINGTON – November 18th, 2003 - Congressman John Kline (R-MN) today announced
several projects in Minnesota’s second district which will
receive federal funding through the Appropriations process.
“The funding provided for these projects will protect and
enhance our natural resources, as well as bringing financial
resources to the state of Minnesota,” said Kline.
Several projects in Congressman Kline’s district will
receive funding through this bill, including:
$600,000 for bank improvement for Lock and Dam 3 in
Hastings;
$250,000 for environmental study of the South Washington
County Watershed;
$175,000 for general improvements to the Minnesota
River;
$36,000,000 for efforts to improve environmental quality
and infrastructure in the segment of the Mississippi River
between the Missouri River and Minneapolis;
$132,000 for environmental study of the Minnesota River
Basin.
“I am particularly pleased to see funds made available
for the Army Corps of Engineers study of the Minnesota River
Basin. This study will examine water resource and
