Ron Castleman, Regional Director, Region VI
Ron Castleman was appointed Regional Director by President Bush in June 2001. As Regional Director, Mr. Castleman is responsible for coordinating FEMA mitigation, preparedness and disaster response and recovery activities in: Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
Prior to joining FEMA, Mr. Castleman was Chief Administrative Officer for the Bush-Cheney 2000 Campaign, where he handled a full range of human resource and administrative responsibilities. He also assisted in the administration transition. Before taking that post, Mr. Castleman had been the senior vice president for human resources and administration for Amresco, Inc., a diversified financial services company.
Before joining Amresco, Mr. Castleman was director of human resources for Computer Language Research, a computer software company; director of personnel management at Coopers & Lybrand, a management consulting firm; and vice president of administration for Communications Corporation of America. Earlier in his career, he held several key management positions with American Airlines.
A native of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Mr. Castleman holds a bachelor of science in business administration from Middle Tennessee State University, where he also pursued graduate studies. He is a trustee for the North Texas Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America and chairman of that society's Patient Services Committee. He is also a member of the Society for Human Resources Management.
