Note About Images

Sally Mangold, Ph.D., a renowned Braille educator with over 30 years of teaching experience, will demonstrate the latest developments for the Speech Assisted Learning (SAL) system at the National Science Foundation (NSF) on September 26.

With SAL - an electronic tutor Mangold developed - children can study Braille with only occasional support from an instructor and adults can use the device for programmed instruction. At the demonstration, Dr. Mangold will discuss the device's successes and introduce its new mathematics tutor and Spanish-language capability.
