NSF Director Keynotes Fifth National Colloquium for
Information Systems Security Education
National Science Foundation (NSF) Director Rita Colwell
will deliver the keynote address at the fifth annual
National Colloquium for Information Systems Security
Education (NCISSE) at George Mason University's Fairfax,
Va. campus on May 22 at 8:30 a.m.
The four-day colloquium, May 21-24, brings together
government, industrial and academic representatives
to address information security and infrastructure
issues facing the U.S., as called for in a 1998 Presidential
directive that made information and communications
infrastructure protection and security a national
priority.
During her remarks, Colwell will announce new Scholarships
for Service Awards that are designed to address the
need to develop nationwide a young cadre of information
security and assurance professionals for the public
and private sectors.
