NSF Honors Recipients Of Presidential Early Career Award For Scientists
And Engineers
The National Science Foundation (NSF) will host a ceremony at NSF headquarters
in Arlington, Va., to honor the 20 NSF recipients of the Presidential
Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE). There are 60
presidential awards given across nine federal agencies. The 9:30 a.m.
ceremony on Wednesday, February 10, 1999, will feature greetings from
Rita Colwell, Director of NSF, Joseph Bordogna, Acting Deputy Director,
and Mary Clutter, Assistant Director for Biological Sciences and NSF's
liaison to the federal PECASE program. Awardees will be introduced by
Clutter. Mark A. Gluck of the Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience
at Rutgers University, and a 1996 PECASE awardee, will address the awardees.
Media representatives may attend the event and talk with the awardees.
A White House award ceremony will follow in the afternoon. Contact the
