We are pleased to announce the launch of a new online training site for the Pediatric and Pregnancy Nutrition Surveillance System. This Web site provides detailed information about these program-based surveillance systems and has the most recent national data for prevalence for childhood overweight and breastfeeding initiation and duration for low-income populations.

Can eating fruits and vegetables help people to manage their weight?
Consuming a diet high in fruits and vegetables is associated with lower risks for numerous chronic diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular disease. Even so, the impact of eating fruits and vegetables on weight management has not been widely researched. This document will examine the evidence from available studies to determine whether eating fruits and vegetables can help with weight management.
