Learning Resource Center (LRC)

The Learning Resource Center (LRC) of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) serves as the facility for onsite viewing of audiovisual programs in the Library's collections. Reference librarians answer audiovisual reference questions and provide assistance in identifying and accessing the collection of approximately 32,000 titles, 100 serial subscriptions and over 3,000 audiovisuals of historical interest. Most audiovisuals are in core biomedical subjects and are in English. Viewing facilities are provided for videocassettes (in. U-matic and 1/2 in. VHS), slide/tapes, filmstrips, 16mm motion pictures, audiocassettes, x-rays, videodiscs, CD-ROMs and computer-assisted instruction (CAI) programs.

The Library revised its security procedures in September 2001, changing the way researchers access the Library. Browse the security procedures at http://www.nlm.nih.gov/services/security.html
