Polar WEFAX Products

The Polar WEFAX product site consists of 44 images which have a 16 tone linear grayscale. WEFAX products are broadcast according to a master schedule found on the Computer Operations Branch main page. These images are the result of several individual orbital treks, and so the images may appear a little disjointed. The polar WEFAX images are either on a mercator projection (resolution 5.8 km) or on a polar stereographic projection (resolution 11.99 km), and are in the visible, IR daytime, or IR nighttime bands.

NOTE: The brightness values for images 43 and 44 have been toned down because these regions are very cold (in other words, a brightness value which would normally appear white will appear light gray on these images).
