upstream from mouth, 1.1 mi downstream from Buffumville Dam, and 1.5 mi west
of Oxford.
DRAINAGE AREA.--26.0 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--Discharge: July 1939 to current year (data publication
discontinued September 30, 1990). Prior to October 1977, published as "at

Water-quality records: Water year 1973.
REVISED RECORDS.--WSP 1201: 1940, 1948. WDR MA-RI-84-1: Drainage area.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and concrete control. Datum of gage is 457.00

REMARKS.-- Flow regulated by Buffumville Lake since 1958 and by other
reservoirs upstream. July 1982 to about January 1983, flow affected by
draining of Buffum Pond. Prior to 1958, flow regulated by mill upstream.
NOTICE.--Corrections to the discharge records computed from the stage-discharge
relation are made from periodic
discharge measurements (green X on discharge and stage graphs). The USGS actively adjusts discharge records to minimize the
backwater effects from beaver dams, however, backwater conditions can change between measurements.
As a result, discharge records at this site are considered poor.
