Helping Employers and Employees Comply with Department of Labor Laws & Regulations

The U.S. Department of Labor is committed to providing its customers — America’s employers, workers, job seekers and retirees — with clear and easy-to-access information on how to comply with federal employment laws. Such information and guidance are often referred to as "compliance assistance," which is a cornerstone of the Department’s mission.

DOL’s Office of Compliance Assistance Policy spearheads a variety of Department-wide compliance assistance efforts and helps coordinate activities with many of DOL’s internal agencies. All of these activities are designed to protect the wages, health benefits, retirement security, safety and health of America’s workforce. Our compliance assistance resources and services include:

  • Printed brochures and pamphlets
  • Web-based information and tools
  • Telephone consultations
  • On-site consultations
  • Training sessions or seminars for individuals or groups
