The Office of Workforce Relations is reinvigorating the Employee Relations network in order to more effectively communicate with our clients and to provide an efficient and timely means of distributing key information. We have had a very positive response over the past couple of years to the Labor Relations network and I believe a similarly structured Employee Relations group will be equally effective. I anticipate that the Employee Relations network would serve as a means of getting news out about evolving legislation and case law and would allow your staff members to give us input regarding what services OPM can provide in this area.

We plan to meet on a bimonthly basis beginning in November, 2000. At this time, I would ask each of you to designate the appropriate individual on your staff to participate in the network. Please send the employee's name, mailing address and email address to Ken Bates, Chief of the Employee Relations Division at his email address, klbates@opm.gov by September 1st.
