Office of Governmentwide Policy Aircraft Management Policy Division Overview

The Aircraft Management Policy Division makes policy for managing the acquisition, use, and disposal of aircraft that the federal civilian agencies own or hire. In addition, this office does the following:

  • Sponsors the Interagency Committee for Aviation Policy (ICAP)
  • Collects, analyses, and reports information on government aircraft, using the Federal Aviation Interactive Reporting System (FAIRS)
  • Promotes best practices in federal aviation management

In cooperation with ICAP-member agencies, GSA's overarching goal is to foster the safest, most effective and efficient aviation in U.S. government agencies.
