NPDES Permits Program Course for Permitees - Including New and Emerging IssuesOverview The program will include lecture and discussion, and provide the attendee with a strong understanding of the purpose of the NPDES program and the mechanics for developing, issuing, and implementing an NPDES permit. Legal issues to consider as a permit holder will be included in the discussion of the overall program. The course will also provide a synopsis and review of new innovative tools that workshop attendees may consider. This will include discussion of electronic tools currently available and also ones being developed that will help permit holders better organize data needed for permit issuance. There will also be discussion of new water quality approaches such as watershed-based permitting and water quality trading.Intended Audience: The workshop is targeted to permit applicants and permit holders. Public interest groups, environmental consultants & engineers, environmental & municipal attorneys, and regulators not involved in writing permits would also benefit from this course.
