Building Location: The Library's James Madison Building is located on Capitol Hill between 1st and 2nd streets on Independence Avenue, SE. The Capitol South Metro station on the blue and orange lines is across the street from the Building's SW corner entrance.
Parking: Traveling to the Library by car is not recommended for researchers. The only parking available is in the surrounding residential neighborhood and spaces can be hard to find. Non- residents of Ward 6 are limited to a maximum of 2 hours parking per day and the City's parking enforcement is extremely efficient.
