ANSWER: Information about complying with employer obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act can be obtained from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission or by calling 1-800-669-4000 (voice) or 1-800-669-6820 (TTY). Information can also be obtained from the federally sponsored Disability and Business Technical Assistance Center in your area. To locate the center closest to you, call 1-800-949-4232. For small businesses, the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Small Business Administration have published the "ADA Guide for Small Businesses," The guide can be found online at www.sba.gov/ada/smbusgd.html or www.usdoj.gov/crt/ada/publicat.htm. Employers should also determine obligations they may have under state law. |
