Food Stamp Regulations

Food Stamp Rules (regulations) are published by the Federal Register in the Code of Federal Regulations, 7 C.F.R., Parts 271 through 283.   The CFR is updated in January each year.

The Federal Register maintains rules published in between annual publication of the CFR on its web site.  Click here  to get access to the food stamp parts of the CFR.  Those are from 7 CFR 273.1 through 7 CFR 283.32. We have also posted the following rules on this site for your convenience.

Database of Waivers of Food Stamp Rules.  This is a compressed (WinZip) file of a MS Access database.  The Food Stamp Program waives certain rules when State Agencies ask for waivers. These waivers should improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Program.
