Q2:  Can CDC help me regulate nonoccupational noise? 

A2:  CDC is not a regulatory agency. Noise ordinances vary by community, so you may want to check with your city officials regarding noise pollution legislation.

Q3:  Does CDC have any noise prevention and control education materials for children?

A3:  The WISE EARS! Health Education Coalition, of which CDC is a member, is conducting a national campaign to prevent noise-induced hearing loss and has materials for children. For information offered by the coalition, go to WISE EARS! Health Education Coalition.*

Q4. Where can I get more information about the health effects, monitoring, and regulation of noise vibration?

A4. CDC is not a regulatory agency; however, CDC's National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health provides information about noise and vibration in the workplace at http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/topics/noise/
