 -   HUD Recognizes Exemplary Practices

----------

In FY2000, HUD developed a Quality Management Review Program to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of various field office activities. Each year, exemplary performances are recognized by the Department. Over the next month, each of these exemplary practices will be recognized in the Daily Focus Message.

This exemplary practice has resulted in the development of a national rating system for evaluating and identifying troubled Multifamily projects, and the application of efficient and effective corrective action plans. The assessment instrument established a point system that factors in such variables as the project’s physical and financial conditions, management and ownership issues, mortgage situation and neighborhood conditions. The system also facilitates balancing workload among project managers and multifamily operations throughout the Department.
