Renew books; see what you have checked out or on hold

You can access your circulation record through the library catalog with a MyLibrary login. MyLibrary is the Research Library's personalization product, available to LANL employees and contractors.

  • Go to the library catalog and click on the green "Circulation Record" button at the top right of the screen. This will take you to MyLibrary to login. If you are already registered and have asked for your login information to be saved, you will go straight to the Circulation Record. If you have never registered with MyLibrary, simply sign up now.

  • Click on "Item List" to see what books or other items you have checked out and their due dates.

  • Click on "Renew" to renew one item or all items. A book may be renewed, as long as it does not have a hold on it, each time for four-week period.

  • If you have items on hold, you will see a "Holds" button. Click there to see a list of requested items and to cancel any holds no longer needed.

TIP: To find a certain title in a long item list, locate specific words by using your browser's "Find in page" capability. Netscape and IE browsers use CTRL-F (CMD-F for Mac).

FAQ - My Circulation Record

1. Why can't I renew by books using my MyLibrary account?

If you received a Suspension Notice in the mail or via email, you will not be able to renew your books online. Your library privileges are automatically suspended and an "administrative hold" or "block" is added to your circulation record. To restore your library privileges, send email to circmail@lanl.gov and ask to renew all items checked out to you. Library staff will notify you once your borrowing privileges have been restored. Note: Items requested by other Library users will not be renewed and must be returned before your privileges can be restored.

2. Why were my borrowing privileges suspended if I never received overdue notices?

Overdue notices are sent via email. The third and last notice sent is a Suspension notice that automatically adds an "administrative hold" or blocks your borrowing privileges. If you use a spam filter with your email application, emailed overdue notices sent by the Library may have ended up in a "Junk" folder or in the LANL Quarantine Digest. To insure that you are properly receiving overdue notices, add circmail@lanl.gov to the list of accepted senders in your email application.

For questions or problems, contact the Library Service Desk at 667-5809 or by email.
