Number of Doctoral Scientists and Engineers Grows by 6 percent between 1993 and 1995 (March 13, 1997; revised October 16, 1997)

An SRS Data Brief presenting information on the employment status of individuals with U.S. earned doctorates in science and engineering fields. Data presented include unemployment and involuntarily-out-of-field rates by field and labor force status by sex and race/ethnicity.

[Note: This Data Brief was revised on October 16, 1997 to reflect adjustments made to the survey sample weights. The result of these adjustments is that some of the numbers in the text and most of the numbers in the tables will vary slightly from those published in the initial Data Brief.]
