Annual Electric Generator Report This is a generator level data file that includes specific information about generators in electric power plants owned and operated by electric utilities and nonutilities (including independent power producers and combined heat and power producers). The file contains generator-specific information such as initial date of commercial operation, generating capacity and energy sources. The data are compressed into a self-extracting (.exe) zip file that expands into 6 DBF files: 1 company file (UTILYyy.DBF*), 1 plant file (PLANTYyy.DBF*), and 4 generator files (GENYyy.DBF*, PCGENYyy.DBF*, PRGENYyy.DBF* and OWNERYyy.DBF*) and an EXCEL layout file (Layout.xls). To expand the file, type F860Yyy.EXE* from a DOS window or double click
on the file name from either File Manager in Windows 3x or Windows Explorer
in either Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, XP, or ME. Or, click
Start, then Run, then select name of .EXE file to open, then "OK." (Requires
8-9 megs space). File Size: 724 KB Opening a DBF file using MS Excel:In order to open a .DBF file
in MS Excel, you need to first open Excel. Click file, then click open.
Set the "files of type" box to read "dbase files (*.dbf)".
Point to the correct file, then click open. Once the file opens, save
it as an .xls file for future use.
