Arthur Ellis is Meloche-Bascom Professor of Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He and his co-workers conduct research on chemical sensors and smart materials. Ellis is the coordinator of the education and outreach effort of the NSF-funded Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) on Nanostructured Materials and Interfaces, which is based at UW-Madison. The focus of this effort is the development of instructional and outreach materials that illustrate nanoscale science and technology.
