Determination of Nicotine, pH, and Moisture Content of Six U.S. Commercial Moist Snuff Products—Florida, January-February 1999

The Friday, May 21, 1999, issue of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) contains a study titled,  "Determination of Nicotine, pH, and Moisture Content of Six U.S. Commercial Moist Snuff Products—Florida, January-February 1999." A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention analysis of moist snuff products found substantial differences in pH and unprotonated (free) nicotine levels in six best-selling brands of smokeless tobacco.
