Additional Resources
The Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) leads and coordinates strategic efforts to prevent tobacco use among
multiple populations. The CDC funds, supports, and actively collaborates with a number of
organizations that serve a variety of ethnic communities (such as the National Association
of African Americans for Positive Imagery, Asian Pacific Islanders for Empowerment and
Leadership, Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board, and the National Coalition of
Hispanic Health and Human Services Organization) to ensure the participation of diverse
community groups, coalitions, and community leaders in tobacco control efforts.
For
additional information on tobacco control resources available to ethnic populations,
contact the following federal, national, and volunteer organizations.
