Philip Morris Incorporated Document Site |
This Web site contains approximately 1.5 million images of tobacco documents released by Philip Morris Incorporated in tobacco litigation. Abstracts are not provided on this site. You may view the documents page by page, with full image zoom and rotate functions, or you may click the view all pages button, which allows you to scroll and print the entire document.
Philip Morris Incorporated designed this site to provide the public with access to documents released by Philip Morris in Attorney General reimbursement lawsuits, as well as in certain other specified civil action. This site states that it contains documents released after October 23, 1998, in smoking and health actions and that documents will be added through June 30, 2010.
The search engine used by Phillip Morris allows you to perform searches with the basic operators (+, -) or more advanced searches with Boolean logic operators (AND, OR).
To search for documents:
A screen with explanations/warnings is displayed, and you are asked to read this screen. At the bottom of the text, click Proceed with Search to see the results.
You may also search on specific fields by typing the field abbreviation followed by the word or phrase related to your interest. Each field has an abbreviation.
To search for the term addiction in document titles, type title:addiction in the search field.
To search for documents dated November 12, 1996, type Ddate:19961112 (using the yyyy/mm/dd format).
To search on a specific field, you must type the abbreviation followed by the appropriate term or number. You cannot search the text of the documents.
