Tomorrow’s Buses for Today’s Children: Clean School Bus Partnership and Grant Announcement***Media Alert*** (Washington, D.C. - June 2, 2004) On Thursday, June 3 EPA Administrator Mike Leavitt will join Stu Levenick, Group President of Caterpillar Inc., to announce Caterpillar’s contribution to EPA’s Clean School Bus USA initiative. The grants being announced will help lower diesel emissions from about 240 school buses in three communities: Tucson, Ariz.; Peoria, Ill. and Ellis County, Texas. The announcement comes during the June 3 - 4 national Retrofit Conference in Washington, D.C. that will focus on reducing diesel emissions by expanding the use of modern emission control technology in four sectors: construction, ports, freight, and school buses.
