Second National Coastal Condition Report and Ocean Monitoring Agreement to be Announced

(Washington, DC – March 8, 2004) To advance scientific understanding of the condition of the nation’s coastal and ocean waters, Dr. Paul Gilman, EPA’s Science Advisor and Assistant Administrator for Research and Development, will announce two research activities. The availability of the draft version of EPA’s second National Coastal Condition Report for public comment will be announced, as well as an agreement to participate in an interagency program to establish an integrated ocean observing system.
