Live From the Poles |
On Tuesday, April 28, 1998, many local Public Broadcasting System (PBS) stations aired Live From the Poles! The program -— an interactive, multimedia field trip using video, live TV, print materials, and the Internet -— created a true "Polar Connection," linking students and interested citizens across the U.S. with researchers in both polar regions. Live From the Poles! was produced by Passport to Knowledge, an NSF-funded educational program whose Live From Antarctica series provided the basis for several activities in this collection.
