The AAS Office supports roughly 6,500 professional astronomers at colleges, universities, governmental/business laboratories, observatories, museums, and other sites. Twice yearly at AAS meetings, workshops are offered for K-12 teachers. AAS also produces and distributes a career-guidance booklet.
