National Engineers Week

National Engineers Week is held annually in February to celebrate and increase the awareness and appreciation of engineers and their work. The National Engineers Week program has been a long-standing colleague of the National Science & Technology Week (NSTW) program. The National Engineers Week website encourages visitors to celebrate NSTW and participate in a contest, learn about engineers in information technology, and meet the chemical engineers who are participating in the International Chemistry Celebration. The site also encourages engineers and engineering students, teachers, K-12 students, libraries and science centers to celebrate National Engineers Week and provides tips on how to get started. National Engineers Week also sponsors the Future City Competition, which encourages all students to learn about math and science in a challenging and interesting way through reality-based education. The dates for next year's National Engineers Week will be February 20-26, 2000.
