Find Out Why: Timon and Pumbaa with a Fun Way to Learn About Science, Engineering, and Technology in Everyday Life

To celebrate the National Science Foundation's 50th anniversary in 2000, a new, broad-based partnership was formed to help raise public awareness of the science, engineering, and technology of everyday life. Walt Disney Telelvision Animation, one of the Foundation's partners, created nine special 90-second programs that aired on ABC TV on Saturday mornings and featured Timon and Pumbaa, characters from "The Lion King." Here are highlights from those programs.
