Example of a Class I Well

Wells should be sited so there are enough confining zones between the injection zone and the lowermost USDW, and there is no reasonable possibility of contamination. The well should be designed and constructed such that it does not allow any fluid to escape the injection string or any fluid to migrate in the bore-hole to a USDW. To accomplish these two requirements, the tubing should be set on a packer, the packer should be isolated and monitored for leaks, and the casing should be properly cemented on the outside.
