Tomek Bartoszynski was born and raised in Warsaw, Poland. He received the M.Sc. (1980) and Ph.D. (1984) degrees, all from Warsaw University, Poland. He has held visiting positions at the University of California, Berkeley (86/88), the University of California, Davis (88/89), Hebrew University, Jerusalem (90/91), Free University, Berlin (95/96), and Rutgers University, New Brunswick (00/01). He is currently on leave from his position as a Professor in the Mathematics Department, Boise State University, where he has been working since 1991.

His research interest is in Set Theory.
