Wing Suet Li
Program Director Wing Suet Li was born in Tienjin, China and spent her teenage years in Hong Kong. She received her B.Sc. (1986) from the University of Iowa and her Ph.D. (1990) from the University of Michigan. She held a visiting position at Indiana University, Bloomington from 1990-1992. Then she was on the faculty of the Georgia Institute of Technology until the summer of 2004, when she came to DMS as a program officer. She was also on the faculty of Virginia Tech during the 2001-2002 academic year. Her research interests include dynamical systems and operator theory, in particular the invariant subspaces problem, the commutant lifting theorem and H-infinity control theory, models of C_0 operators, and eigenvalues of sums of self-adjoint operators.
