Wen Masters received the Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from University of California, Irvine in 1989. She held a lecturer/researcher position at UC Irvine for a year, then joined the Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a Member of Technical Staff. In 1995, she joined the Office of Naval Research, first as a Program Officer then as the Acting Division Director for the Math and Computer Sciences Division of ONR. In September 2004, she joined the Division of Mathematical Sciences as a member of the permanent NSF staff.

Her mathematical interests include probability theory, stochastic processes, and applied mathematics.
