Stewart Priddy
Program Director Stewart Priddy received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of North Carolina. He obtained a Ph.D. in Mathematics from MIT in 1968, after which he joined the faculty of Northwestern University. He has served as chair of that department and a member of several AMS committees. He has held visiting positions at Cambridge and Oxford Universities, the Institute for Advanced Study, and the Universities of Virginia, Kyoto, Paris, and Heidelberg, where he received an Alexander Humboldt Senior Scientist Award in 1991. From 1995-2004 he was an editor of the Transactions of the American Mathematical Society. He has been on the organizing committee of numerous special years and conferences, including the AMS Symposium in Pure Mathematics in 1996. His interests are topology, homotopy theory, group cohomology, and homological algebra.
