To apply for public housing or housing choice (Section 8) vouchers, you will need to visit your local public housing agency. Many have long waiting lists, so you may want to apply at more than one public housing agency.

To apply for low-income housing at privately-owned apartments, you will need to visit the management office of each apartment building that interests you. For information on unit availability, eligibility requirements, waiting lists, office hours, etc., it is always a good idea to call before visiting any property.
