107th Congress February 16, 2001
House Science Committee Organizes
Chairman Sherry Boehlert (R-NY) and Ranking Democrat
Ralph M. Hall (D-TX) announced this week that the
House Science Committee has named the following as
subcommittees chairs and ranking minority members
for the 107th Congress:

Chair, Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (R-MD)

Chair, Rep. Vernon J. Ehlers (R-MI)
Ranking Democrat, Rep. James A. Barcia (D-MI)
Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee
Chair, Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA)
Ranking Democrat, Rep. Bart Gordon (D-TN)
Tim Clancy Moves to House
Science Committee
Among the newly named staff on the House Science Committee
is Tim Clancy, formerly a Senior Legislative Policy
Analyst at NSF. Clancy, a New York native, had formerly
worked on the Science Committee and in Rep. Sherry
Boehlert's personal office. He returned to the Committee
after six years of distinguished service at NSF.
The final budget action of the 106th Congress, signed
into law by the President on December 21, included
a $1 billion across-the-board cut in 12 of the 13
appropriations bills. For NSF, this amounts to a 0.22
percent ($9.74 million) reduction in its $4.426 billion
appropriation.
