Powell's Remarks En Route to Rio
U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell made some remarks to
the press en route to Brazil for meetings with government
officials, business leaders, and other Brazilians. His remarks
included topics such as the U.S.-Brazilian bilateral relations;
the situation in Haiti and what the U.S. Government is doing
to cooperate with the Haitians; the hurricane season and
U.S. aid to Grenada, Brazil's enriching of Uranium, etc.

Elections
2004: Voting Information for residents abroad
Americans
who reside abroad are usually eligible to vote by absentee
ballot in all federal elections and may also be eligible
to vote in many state and local U.S. elections. If you would
like to register to vote, or if you are registered and would
like to apply for an absentee ballot, please stop by the
consular section of the US Embassy in La Paz (window 8,
Monday to Friday from 8:45 to 12:00pm) or the consular agencies
in Santa Cruz and Cochabamba (9:00am-12:00pm). Information
on state voting requirements and primaries is also available
at www.fvap.gov.
