Welcome to the consular webpage of the U.S. Embassy in Port Louis, Mauritius. The consular section offers American Citizens Services and non-immigrant Visa Services during specific hours. American citizens traveling abroad are strongly encouraged to register with the Embassy in person or online. Citizens and residents of the Republic of Mauritius, the Republic of Seychelles, the Union of Comoros, and Reunion (Department of France) who wish to apply for a non-immigrant visa should follow the application procedures. The Department of Homeland Security has special entry regulations for students and exchange visitors. Applicants are encouraged to use the electronic visa application form DS-156 . To plan effectively your visit to the Embassy, please see our Visa appointment wait times and processing times. However the times displayed are only averages and may vary based on individual circumstances of each case. A list of Mauritian Barristers is also available online. The Bureau of Consular Affairs website has a wealth of information. Please feel free to visit. For any emergency involving an American citizen which occurs outside office hours and which cannot wait until the Embassy reopens, please call the Embassy Duty Officer directly at (230) 253 3641.
