Ambassador Untermeyer hosts Ramadan Tent

On October 25, Ambassador Untermeyer hosted the first of a series of Ramadan Tents to be held at the residence in this holy month of Ramadan. This event was a hit as a number of important Qatari dignitaries from differnet walks of life attended. The dignitaries included Government officials, Academicians, Journalists and Diplomats. The Ambassador recieved the guests who were treated in a large tent decorated in true Qatari style.

Consular Warden Message
This is an update on the Embassy’s warden notice of Thursday, October 28. That message was based on information about a possible attack during a relatively specific timeframe against a hotel or hotels used by Americans in Doha. Latest Electronic Journal: ELECTIONS GUIDE 2004
The United States is in the midst of a new election season and candidates are crisscrossing the country. Campaign signs are sprouting up in front yards and adorning car bumpers. Volunteers are appearing at grocery stores and train stations, offering to help people with last-minute voter registration. Serious, sometimes heated, conversations are taking place with increasing frequency about which candidate will lead the country down a better road. Most Americans follow a presidential election campaign through the newspaper or on the nightly television news or their favorite radio talk show or Internet Website. Relatively few citizens have the experience of meeting the candidates unless they live in a hotly contested state—one of the so-called battleground states.

Presidential Debates Play Important Role in U.S. Elections
President Bush and Senator John Kerry will face off in the first of three presidential debates on September 30 at the University of Miami in Florida, according to the nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD). The focus of the first debate will be foreign policy and homeland security. The three debates -- the second is scheduled for October 8 at Washington University in Missouri and the third for October 13 at Arizona State University -- will "address those issues that are of importance ....(complete text)


Ambassador Untermeyer presents his credentials
Ambassador Chase Untermeyer presented his credentials to Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmad bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, in Doha on September 12, 2004. The minister on this occasion wished the Ambassador success in his mission here.

Ambassador Chase Untermeyer was sworn in as the new Ambassador to State of Qatar on the 10th of August at a function in the State Department. The Secretary of State, Collin Powell in his remarks at the swearing in ceremony said "Chase Untermeyer's diverse talents make him uniquely qualified to lead our mission in Qatar."(complete text)
