The Embassy's Consular Section provides services to U.S.
citizens, Tanzanians and other foreign nationals. Foreign nationals
frequently visit the section for immigrant and non-immigrant visas.

For American citizens, the section provides a range of both routine
and emergency services, such as registration, passports renewal,
voter assistance, and documentation of the citizenship status of a
child born to U.S. citizens parents in Tanzania. The consular officer
is also authorized to perform notarial services.

The Consular Section can also assist in the event of an
emergency involving an American citizen, and a duty officer is
available to assist American citizens for serious after-hours
    emergencies.

The Consular Section is open for routine services to American
citizens Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.,
    2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m and Friday from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. except
American and Tanzanian holidays. The section is generally least
    crowded in the afternoons. (+)
