for Preparing Economic Analyses establish a sound scientific
framework for performing economic analyses of environmental regulations
and policies. The Guidelines provide guidance on analyzing the economic
impacts of regulations and policies, and assessing the distribution
of costs and benefits among various segments of the population, with
a particular focus on disadvantaged and vulnerable groups. EPA 240-R-00-003
- The United States Experience with Economic Incentives for Protecting the Environment
economic incentives are being increasingly used to control pollution
and improve environmental and health protection. This EPA report assesses
the role of economic incentives for controlling environmental pollution,
documenting hundreds of uses of economic incentives for controlling
pollution at all levels of government to both supplement and substitute
