Replacement of a Damaged, Lost, or Stolen Visa

Discontinuation of Domestic Revalidation Services

Due to the discontinuation of domestic visa revalidation services, all applications for replacement of a damaged, lost, or stolen visa must be received at the processing center in St. Louis no later than September 30, 2004. 

Notification of the discontinuation of domestic visa revalidation services was published in the Federal Register on June 23, 2004.

The Visa Office may reissue a lost or damaged visa ONLY if the:

  • visa is a E, I, H, L, O, or P visa, AND
  • visa was revalidated (or reissued) in the Visa Office in Washington within the last 12 months, AND
  • applicant includes a copy of a police report or evidence substantiating loss, AND
  • applicant submits all the necessary documentation and fees as required for a new visa, AND
  • application is received in the St. Louis processing center on or before September 30, 2004.

NOTE:  Please mark the outside of your envelope “Damaged/Lost/Stolen Visa” to expedite processing.

Please mark the outside of your envelope “Damaged/Lost/Stolen Visa” to expedite processing. Processing time is approximately 10 (ten) working days from receipt in the Visa Office from the processing center.
