Objective:
To search for, identify, and prioritize potential biological control agents for insects, weeds, and plant diseases that affect agriculture of China and the U.S.

Approach:
Survey area, collect and identify natural enemies, and perform preliminary testing on select candidates. Indepth testing of specificity of candidates selected. Petition for introduction of promising candidates. Collect and send to the U.S. candidates found to be safe. Cooperate with U.S., USDA, and State laboratories in future collections for releases. Predators, parasites, and pathogens attacking pests at low and high densities and from several climatic zones will be collected. Natural enemies collected will be shipped to State and Federal quarantine facilities.
