ERRC Staff Directory Directions: Center City Philadelphia International Airport Pennsylvania Turnpike (including New York, New Jersey, and Ohio) Points South (including Washington, DC and Baltimore) Lodging Area Map		*How to Reach the Eastern Regional Research Center From Center City (downtown Philadelphia)* By Automobile Follow signs to the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76 West). After leaving Center City, proceed on I-76 West toward Valley Forger (Best lane, 2nd from left.). Pass U.S. Route 1 North and South exits and exit at Germantown-Lincoln Drive (Exit #340A). Turn right at bottom of ramp and cross City Avenue Bridge (Stay in center lane across bridge) . Proceed onto Lincoln Drive, which winds initially through a park and then through a residential neighborhood. Watch for traffic lights at Greene St., McCallum St., and Carpenter Lane. Turn left at the next traffic light onto Emlen Street. Emlen Street becomes Cresheim Valley Drive after 2nd light (Allens Lane). Continue on Cresheim Valley Drive until it dead ends (light at Stenton Avenue). Turn left onto Stenton Avenue and right at next light onto Mermaid Lane. ERRC's entrance is on right side of Mermaid Lane, two blocks from Stenton Avenue. Park along right side of the front drive. By Commuter Train (SEPTA) There are three downtown stations: Market East Station at 11th &Market Streets; Penn Center Station at 16th & Kennedy Blvd.; and 30th Street Station at 30th and Market Streets. From any of these three stations, take the Chestnut Hill East (R7) train to the Wyndmoor Station. ERRC is a 5-block walk Northeast of the Station on Mermaid Lane. As an alternative, take the Chestnut Hill West (R8) train to the Chestnut Hill West Station. ERRC is 1&1/2 miles from the Chestnut Hill West Station. Taxis are available at the Chestnut Hill West Station or take a Southbound "L" bus marked "Broad & Olney Subway" to Stenton Avenue and Mermaid Lane and walk left (Northeast) on Mermaid Lane two blocks to ERRC. By Local Transportation Take the Broad Street Subway Northbound to Olney Avenue. Ask for a transfer when paying fare. At Olney Avenue, transfer to an "L" bus marked "Erdenheim" or "Northwestern Avenue" at the Northwest corner of Broad Street and Olney Avenue. Get off bus at Mermaid Lane and Stenton Avenue, and walk right (Northeast) on Mermaid Lane 2 blocks to ERRC. Top *The Philadelphia International Airport* By Train Take the Airport Rail Line to one of the downtown railroad stations given under the section from "Center City" (downtown Philadelphia) and follow those directions. By Airport Limousines There are booths and telephones inside the airport for Liberty Limousine. It costs about $20.00 each way from the airport to selected hotels in Fort Washington and Plymouth Meeting. Also, Limelight Limousine serves ERRC directly. By Car (Two Choices) (1) Via I-76 West and Center City (Estimated time: 45 minutes; avoid during rush hour): From the airport, exit onto I-95 North (towards Center City Philadelphia). Stay in right lane. Almost immediately, follow signs to Center City Philadelphia and I-76 West. Cross over the George Platt Memorial Bridge and turn left at first traffic light onto 26th Street. Join I-76 upon emerging from an underpass. Proceed on I-76 past the Center City area and the I-676 junction and then continue on I-76 as stated under the section from "Center City" (downtown Philadelphia). (2) Via I-476 North and Fort Washington (Estimated time: 1 hour) From the airport, exit onto I-95 South (i.e., towards Delaware, and away from Philadelphia). About three miles away in Chester, PA, exit right onto I-476 North (toward Plymouth Meeting). Travel to the end of I-476 (about 21 miles) where it intersects the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-276). Take the Turnpike East (toward New Jersey) one interchange to Fort Washington (Exit 339). Beyond the toll booth ($0.50) proceed under the overpass and then right onto Route 309 South. Take Route 309 South for about three miles to the Springfield/Paper Mill Road exit. At bottom of ramp, turn right onto Paper Mill Road and proceed to the second traffic light (Cheltenham Avenue). Turn left onto Cheltenham Avenue. Pass Willow Grove Avenue (traffic light) to the third street on the right (Mermaid Lane). Turn right onto Mermaid Lane, ERRC is about a mile down Mermaid Lane on the left side (big building on well-landscaped lot). Drive along the property line to its end and you can turn left into the front drive where you can park on the right along the curb. Top *The Pennsylvania Turnpike, Points East (New Jersey) and West (Ohio)* Take exit 339 (Fort Washington) and follow directions from Philadelphia International Airport via I-476 North and Fort Washington. Top Points South (Washington, DC, etc.) Take I-95 North to I-476 in Chester, PA and follow directions from Philadelphia International Airport via I-476 North and Plymouth Meeting.
