SDWIS/FED ModernizationSDWIS/FedRep Release 1.1 Application SDWIS/FedRep Release 1.1.1 patch This patch corrects problems with the SDWIS/FedRep release 1.1 for primacy agencies using the application to extract actions data from their SDWIS/State database. Primacy agencies extracting data from their own data systems will not benefit from this patch because they are not using the modules in which this problem occurs. It corrects two problems; improper extraction of "Level Violated" for all violations extracted, leading to the generation of error code R52290, and the extraction failing to retrieve all violations where the violation "Compliance Period Begin Date" was within the domain. The zip file below contains a readme.doc file explaining the fixes involved along with instructions for installation, as well as two ".class" files that contain the fixes.
SDWIS/FedRep application version 1.1 The SDWIS/FedRep application, version 1.1, dated August 9, 2004 is an integrated set of tools that assist Drinking Water Public Water System Supervision Primacy Agencies, EPA regions and EPA Headquarters with the extraction (SDWIS/State only), formatting (SDWIS/State only), validation, and certification of federally reportable drinking water data. It also provides a message notification tool that delivers status messages to the user based on the processing stage of the submitted data. This updated release of SDWIS/FedRep corrects issues found in version 1.0 (see release notes for more details), and will now extract data from SDWIS/State applications using SQL Server and DB2 DBMS's, along with ORACLE. Integration of these SDWIS/FedRep tools is through a well-defined interface that consists of XML documents compatible with published XML schemas. Primacy agencies not using the SDWIS/State application, or using for part of their federally reportable data flow, have the responsibility of mapping and extracting data from their own database(s). The data must be formatted into XML documents compatible with the same published XML schema. SDWIS/FedRep is based upon the Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) architecture because it will be deployed in diverse operating environments. SDWIS/FedRep may be deployed on any major operating system (e.g., Windows, Unix, Linux), and on different hardware platforms (e.g., Intel, Sun, SPARC). InstallationThe SDWIS/FedRep software is to be installed on a web server and interfaces with the e-mail server. Therefore, a system administrator familiar with the web server, application server and e-mail server must be available throughout the installation process. For primacy agencies using the SDWIS/State software, the DBA must also be available. The SDWIS/FedRep application interfaces with J2EE (1.4.x), and uses Tomcat as the servlet engine for the implementation of the JAVA Servlet and JavaServlet Pages technologies. See the document entitled "SDWIS/FedRep Release 1.1 Installation Guide and User Guide", August 9, 2004, for installation details. The document includes information on hardware configurations as well as software. User support and questions on SDWIS/FedRep installation and operations should be directed to SDWIS User Support at (703) 292-6298, between the hours of 8 AM to 5 PM, or EMAIL to sdwisstate@saic-solutions.com. Questions about SDWIS/FedRep or aspects of the modernization should be directed to Abraham Siegel at Siegel.Abraham@EPA.GOV. The following documents are available for download and use:
