STUDENTS TO BE HONORED AT CONFERENCE ON ORAL HEALTH

Nine students from
the D.C. schools will be honored at a reception and awards ceremony in
conjunction with the U.S. Surgeon General's Conference on Children and
Oral Health on Monday, June 12, 2000 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Washington,
D.C.
The students are winners
of the Healthy Mouth, Healthy Body poster contest, which is sponsored
by the Planning Committee for the U.S. Surgeon General's Conference on
Children and Oral Health. The students and their art teachers will receive
monetary awards, courtesy of the Colgate-Palmolive Company, in recognition
of their creativity and artistic expression of the theme "Healthy
Mouth, Healthy Body." In addition to an exhibit of the prize-winning
posters, the design of the grand-prize winner will be featured
on the conference materials.
Contest sponsors include
the National Dental Association, Robert T. Freeman Society, Hispanic Dental
Association, D.C. Dental Society, United States-Mexico Border Health Association,
and American Association of Public Health Dentistry.
